New York Post features Techstars IoT's Fueloyal smart fuel caps
Working with Techstars to launch their first Internet of Things class in New York City opened our eyes to the possibilities of IoT. What will become an $11 trillion global industry is now a bit like the wild west. programmers are using different languages, smart devices are disconnected from each other and legacy industries are in need of an overhaul. Techstars' class is working to create an IoT Web with common languages and programs. On the flip side, they're helping to rewire legacy industries like transportation, health and construction.
One company we fell in love with is Chicago-based Fueloyal who manufactures smart fuel caps. Each year $10 billion is lost when drivers abuse their fuel cards by using company money and then selling the gas. Fueloyal's cap cuts this waste by 99% though IoT monitoring of who is fueling how much in real time. We chatted with the New York Posts' James Covert who was intrigued enough to write up a feature.
